The art of finishing: perfected plastic housings!
Specific requirements regarding design, function, and feel call for customized solutions in plastics processing. KVH Hartung offers a variety of options for refining and optimizing plastic components to ensure that products are optimally suited to their intended applications.
High-quality printing, targeted surface texturing of plastic, and surface finishing result in functional and visually appealing components. Whether technical housings, trim pieces, or custom molded parts—the right post-processing ensures a high-quality finish, improved performance characteristics, and a professional appearance.
This ensures that your plastic components have exactly the properties required in terms of design, functionality, and quality.
3D print
3D printing has revolutionised the way companies create prototypes. This innovative technology offers short manufacturing times, more flexibility and cost efficiency, which accelerates product development and time to market.
ALUMINUM SPUTTERING
Subsequent vapour deposition with aluminium is a common surface finish for plastics. This is the most common way to give your component a chrome effect.
MOUNTING DOMES
he installation of technical components such as displays, circuit boards, etc. requires fixing points. KVH offers you an individual solution for this in the form of aluminium, plastic or brass cylinders with an integrated thread, which can be glued into your housing with pinpoint accuracy as required.
EMC SHIELDING
To reduce electromagnetic interference from devices, EMC shielding can be incorporated into the panelling. Depending on your requirements, KVH offers shielding in the form of a copper conductive coating or metal vapour coating.
UNDERCUTS & SHADOW JOINTS
The joining of housing half-shells should be carried out in a design-supporting and clean manner. KVH is able to provide your moulds with various undercuts in advance. These create attractive shadow gaps or precisely fitting dividing lines when assembling the half shells.
GLUEING
KVH uses a wide range of solvent-based and two-component adhesives to create durable bonded joints. Even built-in parts made of materials such as aluminium, stainless steel and brass can be bonded to plastic components without any problems.
Plastic Coating
Painting plastic housings can be used as a colourful design element or surface protection. As with the painting of metals, there are no limits in terms of colour and surface.
LASER MARKINGS
Laser labelling is a modern alternative to screen printing. Laser printing is characterised by its extremely sharp lines and therefore increases the quality of the typeface.
EMBOSSING
During embossing, a colour film is thermally transferred to the plastic using a stencil. This makes permanent labelling possible thanks to the very robust colour layer.
SCREEN PRINTING
Screen printing and pad printing are proven methods for applying logos, lettering, or symbols to your components. Screen printing is primarily suitable for flat surfaces, whereas pad printing is used on uneven surfaces.
THERMOFORMED LETTERING
Integrating company logos or names into the thermoforming tool has the advantage that subsequent labelling is no longer necessary. This gives you permanent labelling that is raised or recessed by the component.
THERMOFORMED SURFACES
he texture on thermoformed plastic parts is KVH’s speciality. We can provide your component with a fine or coarse texture as required. Ask us for a sample.
THERMOFORMED OPENINGS
Many medical and technical components are controlled by regulators, switches and push-buttons. The openings in the housing required for this can be defined by the shape of the mould, thereby ensuring consistent dimensional accuracy. In many devices, it is necessary to cool technical components. Instead of using separate cooling fin elements, the design advantages of deep-drawing can be utilised by integrating the fin pattern into the mould.
